Estructure provided structural engineering design services on the UCSF Mission Bay Campus Main Point of Entry (MPOE) for the AT&T communications service and Main Distribution Frame (MDF) for the Helen Diller Cancer Research Building and the Smith Cardiovascular Research Building Project. We designed a building-in-a-building to create a secure hub that has a high probability of providing continued service after an earthquake. The design included bracing and anchorage of server cabinets, equipment racks, cooling units and suspended cable tray distribution systems. Project team coordination and planning led to completion 3 months ahead of schedule and 30% under budget.
