Estructure evaluated the structural integrity of a fire escape stairway in which steel plates and structural framing members had extensively corroded on some landings. A field investigation was undertaken to examine the severity of the deterioration and its impact on the structural capacity of the stairs. After identifying the locations of insufficient capacity, details were prepared to restore the structural integrity of the stairway.
