Estructure worked collaboratively with Kaiser, the design team and the contractor to achieve compliance with OSHPD’s SB1953 requirements for Nonstructural Performance Category 3 (NPC3). Estructure surveyed all nonstructural components throughout critical care and support areas, created a spreadsheet inventory of all nonstructural components subject to NPC3 regulation, designed customized seismic restraints, facilitated the OSHPD approval process, and trained inspectors and contractors. The project included construction of a temporary clinical lab and renovation of a vacant wing for patient care to maintain uninterrupted service throughout construction. Construction cost $20 million.
