Seismic Evaluation of Butte Hall, California State University, Chico

imgBack to Projects

Estructure conducted a comprehensive structural and seismic investigation of the tallest building on CSU Chico campus. Butte Hall, a reinforced concrete shear wall building constructed in 1972, currently houses classrooms and a campus data center. A study was undertaken, in collaboration with WRNS Studio, to advise campus leadership on options for renewal. Estructure evaluated Butte Hall using the Tier 1 and Tier 2 procedures of ASCE 41-13, Seismic Evaluation and Retrofit of Existing Buildings.
The structural evaluation was peer-reviewed by the CSU Seismic Review Board and provided a foundation for comprehensive renewal plans.
