Estructure provided plan check services for design and construction of this 340,000 sf building at UCSF’s Mission Bay campus. The building, designed by Forell/Elsesser Engineers, consists of three wings: a 12-story tower, a five-story south wing and a three-story north wing with a rooftop garden. The building included post-tensioned floors and special concrete shear walls supported on a concrete mat foundation with soil improvement below. Estructure provided plan check of the structure with support from Maffei Structural Engineering who assisted with review of the nonlinear analysis. In addition, Estructure provided plan review of structural aspects of all delegated designs including stairs, cladding, MEP and architectural systems. During construction, Estructure reviewed all material alterations and assisted with resolution of construction issues. The project was delivered by an Integrated Design Build team led by Webcor Builders.
